Rob is bringing back the polo shirt, according to Style Examiner. Apparently after the Cannes photo call, a frenzy of
sorts began…
When Twilight’s Robert Pattinson showed up at a Cannes photo opportunity in a black striped polo, he caused a chain reaction. Stores both online and brick-and-mortar instantly saw an uptick in the number of polos that blew out the door.
The caveat? They had to be black and they had to be striped.
So, apparently wives and girlfriends everywhere went and bought their significant others golf shirts. (I mean, you didn’t think the guys went out and bought these shirts, did you?!?) If this is going to be a trend, I think there is one thing we can all be happy about..his collar wasn’t popped. Geez, I’ve had to wait TOO long for that trend to die!
Of course, the idea of all of us trying to turn the men in our lives into Rob is not new, but really this hot, new trend was not even the best part of the article.
And while there’s no word yet on who designed the shirt Pattinson wore on the Cannes seaside, a terrific selection of black polos can be found at all price points. Try Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Gap, Banana Republic and J.Crew.
Hmmm… to me there can only be a couple of reasons why they can’t figure out the designer for the shirt.
- As much as Rob believes it, you will never be able to convince Style Examiner that the Faded Glory brand by Wal-Mart is name brand. Rob, you KNOW you got that shirt on clearance for $5 because it was sooo last season.
- It’s a thrift store find and the tag was cut out, hiding the brand name forever. In fact, when Rob bought his now infamous “Dad Case”, someone had stuck the polo inside and Rob didn’t realize till he got home and was excited by the luck he must have cause he totally got a two-fer!
What do you think? And were you one of the people that ran out and bought your significant other a Robbie-style polo? If so, then you MUST share!

LMAO. They will never figure it out his personal wardrobe. They will be able copy but not get the same thing. Can you imagine Wal-mart or any thirfty store sale hike if they do figure it out. LMAO.
This is too FUNNY.

Okay. I can say with much certainty that I may have bought a similar shirt as that for my hubs at Old Navy but I SWEAR it was before Cannes.
Also, Rob and two-fer now have a completely different meaning in my book!

OMG– I <3 you for bringing out the Faded Glory! Holla Wally World!
But my fave part:
"Rob didn’t realize till he got home and was excited by the luck he must have cause he totally got a two-fer!"
LMAO! I could totally see that happening!

Dear Amber,
As Director of the Federal Bureau of Robstigation I have figured out (and by figured out I mean read on a style-watch website a few days ago) that it’s a Marc Jacobs shirt. Baby boy ain’t all about the thrift stores anymore; what with wearing D&G suits & Prada and Burberry jeans; but do we really care as long as he looks HOT?? Nope, sure don’t.
Love,
You know who.

Really? Marc Jacobs? Damn! Oh well, you may need to get a job with this style magazine if you could figure it out when they couldn’t. I bow down to your investigation skills!!
