So MTV has started a wish list of peeps they want to see hosting Saturday Night Live for the next season and guess who is #1! None other then our boy Rob! And all I have to say is…DUH!!
We’ve only been trying to tell the SNL peeps for awhile that Rob would be perfect, but we can also GUARANTEE a huge jump in the ratings for SNL. Just ask the Oscars and the MTV Movie Awards. Seriously, ask them. This was the first year in a very long time that I watched either of those shows, and I know I wasn’t the only one.
But, I want to go beyond just requesting Rob to host SNL. I want to request that certain sketchs and characters are actually used in conjunction with Rob in order to enhance the funniness!
1. Dick in a Box and/or Jizz in My Pants – Please redo this video with Rob! Personally, seeing Rob dance with the box would be hilarious, but it could make more sense to do the Jizz in My Pants, since it was so popular in it’s remake with Robward on YouTube!
2. Rob with the Target Lady – Why? Because even though I know Rob is not a high class guy, I absolutely cannot picture him in a Target.
3. Rob with Joe Biden – This was TheShagDaddy‘s request! He wants to see Biden “fan girl” out on Rob, calling him Edward, signing his copy of Twilight and just all around breaking all of the fan girl rules.
What do you all think? Any other great ideas for sketches while we got Rob on the show?!?

I really don’t see why people think he would be good on SNL – Dick in a Box aside, SNL hasn’t been funny in years (really, to remake Dick in a Box would be the lamest of lame attempts to get people to like Rob and would prob backfire) Really, Rob may be charming/witty/funny with his lack of a filter in RL, but I can’t see him delivering canned one liners and tired skits.
That said, of course I would watch it (I suffered through the TCA, right?)

I have to say it’s the one place on TV I’d LOVE to see Rob. We all know he’s hilarious and charming; what better venue to showcase his wicked sense of humor than on SNL. I do agree with shuddertothink about SNL lacking the humor of yesteryear, but anything Andy Samberg has a hand in will be funny…
In addition to your great ideas for skits, Amber, I’d request Rob on Weekend Update…Gah! Rob as an anchorman? Helloooo?! He could do a story about dumpster sex…*giggles* It might also be appropriate for a Mom Jeans skit just to appeal to the, ahem, more senior cougars on the Rob bandwagon. Here’s to hoping Lorne Michaels can convince him to sign on!

I’d LOVE to see a Twilight spoof and a Dali spoof.

The caption on that post is absolutely perfect! I have mixed feeling about Rob on SNL. The Hubs suggested him as a musical guest. Then (which you know how much I loved the idea) maybe Rob hosting with Sam as musical guest. I have a very smart hubby! (As do you, the Biden fangirling would be hilarious)
No, I have it…musical guest should be Sam, Marcus and Bobby…although, I have to say, Sam would probably have a bigger blast hosting than Rob…sorry, I’m biased! LOL

Yeah, well he is generally UNintentionally funny. So the writers would have to say, “OK, now we’re going to have you and all the rest of the cast weaing the same plaid shirt, and misbuttoned jacket with the tag still attached…
And then he’ll be all like, “I don’t get it! But *I* would really like to fit into a box….” And we’d laugh. And he would not know why it was funny! Hmmm….

he should take on Jimmy Fallon, have them both in the tree fighting over Kristen or something like that.. now THAT would be ratings gold.

I don’t think Rob would survive an hour and a half LIVE show being the main man in charge. He’d shit his pants! It’d be like watching a train wreck. And of course, I’d watch it, although it’d be painful lol.
The Biden skit would definitely be funny. And Sam or any of the Brit Pack as musical guest would totally rock!

[...] were pretty torn when I brought this up before, although I still think his humor would outshine his awkwardness. And I was not alone, so not alone [...]
