Lessons for the Main Stream Media

Dear Main Stream Media Peeps,

Hello, and welcome to the world of New Moon. I’m getting that you all weren’t really around last year during the Twilight stuff, and that’s cool cause truth is, I really wasn’t either.  But, now that we are here, I’m gonna need to teach you a few things before you can possibly continue on with this. I mean, really. You all are starting to embarrass the hell out of yourselves.

1. It’s Robert Pattinson, that’s P-a-t-t-i-N-s-o-n.

I swear, if I hear one more reporter talk about Robert Pattison, I may shoot them. Or my television. Or nothing, cause I don’t own a gun, so I’m just going to stare at my TV and into the eyes of the idiot reporter’s until their heads blow up.

Yeah, listen, they say it. Pattison. Oh, and I watched it live and the banter between the reports AFTER this clip, they said Pattison AGAIN. ::facepalm::

More media faux pas, after the jump…

Wow, Premiere Craziness…

I don’t know. I’ve been contemplating going to the Eclipse premiere, but watching the New Moon premiere last night has made me afraid. So very, very afraid.

I watched the MySpace feed, which was the most reliable with most likely the least amount of screaming. Unfortunantly, I had to put up with Anya Marina and her complete inability to work the red carpet. Seriously, I think any of us could have done a better job. Did you know she had a song on the New Moon soundtrack? Did you know she said about 10 times what scene it plays during? Did you know that I may have issues with listening to that song now even though I really liked it? Ick.

I do know that we got some eye candy from Rob last night, which made me happy. He was looking fantastic in a suit and some scruff. Hair was perfection. All around, very yummy.

But hey, don’t take my word for it. Check out these photos here and I’ll let you be the judge!

Yes, I know this blog is short. Yes, I realize I have been neglecting you, my babies. But I cannot even express how much the premiere wore me out. Not even being there and I am exhausted.

So, I know some of my good friends were at the Premiere. I need stories. I need them in the comments. Or you need to email me so I can  post them on the blog. Or something. C’mon ladies! Spill it!!!

A Soapbox Moment: MTV’s “Love Bites”

I’ve contemplated several days about this, deciding whether or not I wanted to write about this or not. But, seeing how people keep asking my opinion on it all, I think I should do this and I’ll let you all12606600figure out what you think.

Last week, MTV sent me a press release about 2 new shows they are planning on showing later tonight, one called “Love Bites” and “New Moon Revealed.” Here are the descriptions they sent to me:

“Love Bites” gets up close and personal chronicling the budding rumored romance between Pattinson and Stewart from its early stages through present day. MTV digs into the archives to give viewers a look at their first, very intimate audition on a casting couch and their first interview, where the two candidly talk about nights spent together. Hitting the streets of Vancouver and Portland where the films were shot, viewers will find out what goes on when the cast has down time and what local bars, restaurants and locations they frequent, as well as hear from people who see them when they are off camera. From rumors of an engagement, to nasty break-ups and even nights with other celebrities, the love life obsession with the cast is at an all-time high, so when it comes to “Twilight,” love certainly bites.

In “New Moon Revealed” MTV News will continue to provide fans with unrivaled access to the “Twilight” saga. Hosted by Kim Stolz, this 30-minute special will be anchored from “New Moon” mall events in Los Angeles and Chicago, and will prominently feature the die-hard fans of the series as they gather to get close to the actors they’ve worshipped from afar. In the show, MTV News will countdown the five hottest, most burning questions fans of the “Twilight” series want answered — from exploring how stardom has changed Robert Pattinson, to finding out whether Kristen Stewart is on Team Edward or Team Jacob, to telling the behind-the-scenes story of how Taylor Lautner almost lost the role of Jacob, MTV News has all the answers.

So, I really have no issue with the latter of the two, other then I am getting a bit burned out on all the New Moon and I probably won’t be watching it. Friday is coming up fast and furious so I don’t need all this piblicity now to hold me over. We are almost there! ::happy dance::

But this whole “Love Bites” thing is kind of rubbing me the wrong way. After I read the description, I felt a bit sick about it all.

Sorry for the unexpected break…

I had one of the best nights ever last night. I got to accompany TheShagDaddy to his first ever home football game for the University of Oklahoma last night. (If you follow us on Twitter, you know we are huge fans!) We watched our guys detroy Texas A&M 65-10, ate some dinner, picked up our kids, came home and crashed.

Great nights sometimes equal no post for you guys. But trust, I’ll be back tomorrow full speed. Notice I’ve been taking a lot of breaks lately, and I hope you all are cool with it. Got lots of real life stuff going on and sometimes I just need the break!

I leave you with the latest in Vanity Fair Rob, who is STILL the BEST Rob, in my humble opinion!

Sexy Saturday — Better Late then Never!

This week’s video options are kind of ridiculous, since we have so much promo stuff that we’ve all already seen. But I did my best, so I hope you enjoy!

Oh, and before  you delve into the videos, you should check out my interview with The Pattinson Project. Learn a little bit more about me and how all this ::waves hands around:: came about.

If Rob Were to Be a Product Spokesman…

I love Rob. I hate how his is so worried about being a “sell out,” which I appreciate, but damn. He deserves a little bit of coinage…

more about “Robert Pattinson Starring In A Coca-C…“, posted with vodpod

I’m not gonna mention the Coke thing, cause I’m serious when I say this is almost a deal breaker. I’m a Pepsi girl and proud of it! Luckily, I’m willing to cough up the extra bucks to buy my own soda, so me and Rob are good.

What makes me giggle so much is the fact that Rob knows that he is helping endorse many items without any payment. And we all know how very true this is. In fact, I can think of more then a few things that have made their way in to the RMW household thanks to Rob.

1. Dunkin Donuts coffee

No lie, when Rob started downing these things all the freakin’ time on the New Moon set, I did too. Every Friday for quite awhile actually. You are welcome, DD. Now give that boy some money!

SNL, Hot Pockets, TayTay on ANOTHER Box… How can I choose?

With the explosion of media every single day, I am having a very difficult time choosing an overall topic for my post and running with it. There are too many different things I could do, and if I waited till tomorrow on anything, there would be even more good stuff I wouldn’t want to not talk about. And the cycle continues…

So today is another “things I learned” type of post, cause that is all I am probably going to do until the madness starts to slow down a bit.

It’s all after the jump, cause this stupid video auto starts. Grrr… Continue reading

Other Things to Think About Instead of… You Know

No, I am not blogging about the pictures. I will link you if you don’t know what I am talking about right here.

Plenty of other stuff came about yesterday, so I pulled the best I could find to try and help distract you from the above pictures! ;) In fact, I actually learned other things yesterday from all the press crap going down. Wanna see? of course you do…

1. If you try to talk to Rob for a full 3 minutes, you can count on having the hammer dropped on you.

It’s shame, cause Rob doesn’t exactly answer questions quickly, but you better hurry it on up if you want to talk to him. Start approaching that 3 minute mark and I swear you can hear the “get the hell off the stage already” Oscar music.

The things that I do with my spare time…

You’re probably going, “#411 has spare time? Doesn’t she have a full-time job, plus this fake job?” Yes and yes, but I do still find some time for my other interests. In some businesses you play golf to getKStew411 ahead, but until they release packs of wild boars on the golf course, golf is lame. So I learned poker. I’m decent. Mostly, I am not above using my boobs to win. Most men assume women can’t play “real poker” and I play up to that, sucking them into fake, obvious tells so they do my bidding until I lay out my straight and take down the pot. I also like to study my enemies. I have three enemies: sharks, zombies, and velociraptors. I spend a lot of time reading about them, learning their ways, and planning the strategic defense of my person against any one of them, or all three of them if worse comes to worst. Fortunately, barring some kind of insane-geneticist-gone-awry situation, I don’t think I have to worry about velociraptors, so my defense there is just to take down any insane geneticists I may meet. Ditto for zombies. It would take a pretty big fucking disaster to make zombies a reality, so I just try to avoid big fucking disasters. Sharks though… I used to vacation on a beach where sharks sometimes were. I would see their dorsal fins and just keep swimming, merrily oblivious to the death machine twenty feet away. I have tempted fate enough. Now I must proactively defend against sharks. This largely involves never going in the ocean, but it also gives me an excuse to own a harpoon gun. Have you ever seen a harpoon gun? They’re fucking awesome.

vampinthebasementThe Vampire in the Basement” by michellephants

This is one of the most intriguing concepts in all of Twilight fanfiction. It’s built on canon roots—the Cullens are vampires who live in Forks and go to high school, Bella is a human, she and Alice are best friends. Everyone has their special vamp-gift, all canon pairings exist. The major change is Edward. He doesn’t start out with the Cullens, but since the entire story revolves around his origins, I’ll just skip all that to save from spoiling it. What I like about this story: First and foremost, this is a kickass Bella. She is strong and smart, determined to the best thing for Edward, and while accident prone, she isn’t helpless (something Stephenie Meyer had a hard time separating). Also, the Carlisle/Edward relationship is intriguing. Fanfiction often presumes that they have an established history because that’s how it is in canon, but here michellephants gets to develop their unique bond from scratch. It’s done with such delicacy and finesse—Carlisle is totally his canonical self but Edward is quite different, yet they are establishing the same sort of father/son, mentor/mentee (is that a word?) relationship we know from the books. I’m late to the party with this fic—a lot of people have read it, but since I just found it, I will assume there are those of you out there who haven’t read it yet, either. This story is complicated and intense, but it represents one of the most deep and beautiful Bella/Edward relationships out there. I rank this Bellward right up there with the Wide Awake Bellward (Wide Awake being the standard for all other fanfiction, of course). The Vampire in the Basement is so complex and mysterious it can be frustrating waiting for updates, but it’s so worth it. Continue reading

I Think I Just Woke Up From a Rob-Induced Coma…

If I’m dying, I think this may be a good way to go. I knew it would be bad on Friday. I knew the media circus would end well, at least for us the fans.

Rob did not disappoint. And if you haven’t seen me much this weekend, it’s because I have been in a Rob-induced coma. (What? This is a very real disease. Do not doubt me.)

But do not fear my Rob-hards, I want to help you. I am hear to tell you exactly how to avoid sending yourself into this very same coma! So pull out your notebooks and pens and take notice.

1. Do not, I repeat, do not add “Robert Pattinson” to your Google alerts.

This apparently is a big no no, especially with the onslaught of media that is surely coming down the pipe. Used to be, it was like a little mini present every time I check the alerts, but Saturday I woke up to 327 alerts. Yes, that’s right. 327 delicious links all leading to things like these:

Robert Pattinson Portrait

Um, hey there. Can I have a seat there?

Oh my, the hair porn will be my death!

Oh my, the hair porn will be my death!

Fair warning, there is a video after the jump that will auto start. Sorry about that!
